The Argentina international has highlighted the importance of Wednesday’s encounter and hopes his side can make an impact in Europe this season
Gonzalo Higuain feels Wednesday’s Champions League match at home against Borussia Dortmund will give Napoli a good idea of where they stand in Europe.
The Serie A side last featured in the Champions League in 2011-12 when they made it to the round of 16, only to lose to Chelsea, and the Argentine is hopeful they can make an impact again this term.
“Wednesday’s match is very important for Napoli. We want to start this Champions League campaign on a high,” the 25-year-old told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Borussia Dortmund have achieved some great things and reached the final of the competition last year. It will be a great test for us.
“If we get off to a winning start, we could go far in the Champions League. We all realise that it will not be easy, though.”
The game at the Stadio San Paolo kicks off at 20:45CET.
