Paulo Dybala has rubbish rumours that he has tested positive for coronavirus, with false reports spreading like wildfire on social media.
Several Serie A players have tested positive for coronavirus, including Dybala’s Juventus teammates Daniele Rugani and Blaise Matuidi.
It had been widely speculated last week that the Argentine forward had himself contracted the coronavirus, but Dybala has taken to social media to assure fans that this isn’t true.
Dybala said on his Instagram account: “
“In the next few days, I will know the outcome of the tests. I hope I don’t have the virus, but if I do, I’ll continue in quarantine.”
He also encouraged everyone to remain united in wake of the pandemic, adding: “We are one big team, no cheering for this or that, or political colours. The only advice I want to give everyone is to stay at home, as I am doing.”
Italy announced 627 more deaths on Friday, the biggest day-to-day increase in the country during the pandemic. The total number of deaths in Italy has now reached 4,032, overtaking China as the highest number of fatalities from the disease in one country.
“People are working very hard to find a cure, and I hope you find it soon so there will be no more cases.”
Despite the effect of the pandemic on Italy, the country’s sporting minister Vincenzo Spadafora has named 3rd May as a potential return date for Serie A.
