Roma remove Under from Milik talks

Napoli have reportedly dropped the asking price for Arkadiusz Milik to €35m, as Roma are no longer offering Cengiz Under as part of the deal.

Nicolò Zaniolo’s knee injury and Edin Dzeko seemingly rejecting proposals from Juventus and Inter are two events that transformed their transfer strategy.

It means Under and Dzeko are now expected to remain, so talks that had been to swap the Turkey international plus cash for Milik have changed.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the negotiations are now purely about Milik and Napoli are running out of time to do a deal, as the Poland international’s contract expires in June 2021.

Rather than risk losing him as a free agent, and with the options diminishing, the Partenopei are now seemingly prepared to lower the €50m asking price to €35m.

Even then, if Dzeko is staying at the Olimpico, then Roma are not necessarily going to make such a large offer for a player who won’t be first choice in their attack.

Milik had his heart set on Juventus for months, but Napoli will do everything possible to avoid seeing another of their star players join the Bianconeri.
