The Blues are keen to bolster their attacking options in the January transfer window, though Jose Mourinho may have some of his own choices that don’t reflect the club’s

Chelsea have begun putting together a shortlist of striking options as they plan to improve their squad in January, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The Blues, languishing down in 14th place, have already lost eight times in the Premier League this season, and the club’s hierarchy is keen to bolster their attacking options.

Technical director Michael Emenalo has been assessing Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy and West Bromwich Albion’s Saido Berahino as possible options, while Shakhtar Donetsk’s Alex Teixeira remains of interest.

But it is reported Jose Mourinho would be keen on a more proven forward, with Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain on his radar as well as free agent Emmanuel Adebayor, whom he knows from his time at Real Madrid.
