Sergio Ramos: I feel like a Real Madrid veteran

Sergio Ramos says he feels like a Real Madrid veteran as he has become one of the most experienced players at the Santiago Bernabeu side.

The defender joined Madrid from Sevilla in the summer of 2005, and has since made well over 300 official appearances for the Blancos.

“I feel like a veteran because of the time I’ve been at the club. The level of responsibility is getting bigger,” the defender was quoted as saying on the club’s official website.

The Spain international then went on to discuss the upcoming Copa del Rey semi-final against Barcelona, and voiced his frustration with the fact that he will miss Wednesday’s first leg due to suspension.

“There are a lot of things that I don’t understand and I’m not going to talk about them. I need to keep quiet and do my talking on the pitch. It’s a shame I can’t play in this match.

“We must remain calm because it’s two matches and a great team. The two matches will see some beautiful football.”

Ramos was handed a five-match ban for insulting the referee in Madrid’s Copa del Rey win over Celta de Vigo earlier this month.
