The 37-year-old does not fear that the former Chelsea boss will take his job in the wake of recent speculation linking the Blancos coach with a return to San Siro
Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni has voiced his respect for Real Madrid trainer Jose Mourinho, yet believes it’s unlikely that the Portuguese will take his place in charge of the Nerazzurri any time soon.
A number of recent reports suggested that Mourinho could be on his way back to the Giuseppe Meazza side following club president Massimo Moratti’s comments that he’s still touch with the Madrid coach.
However, Stramaccioni does not fear that he will lose his job to the former Chelsea manager.
“Jose is the benchmark for all young coaches. He’s Mourinho, I can’t feel I’m competing with him,” Stramaccioni was quoted as saying on the club’s official website.
“I know how much he’s loved here, but I also know the truth behind this story with the president.
“It is a shame that these things are used to excite the fans – I’m talking as an Inter fan here – because people are only left disappointed.
“Speculation like this builds up expectations, before leaving people bitter and disappointed again.”
Mourinho has an ongoing contract with Madrid, but reports from Spain claim that he could leave the Blancos at the end of the season.
