Tammy Abraham Closing in on Chelsea History & 4 Other Stats After Win Over Burnley

Goals from Jorginho, Tammy Abraham and Callum Hudson-Odoi helped Chelsea pick up a comfortable win over Sean Dyche’s Burnley on Saturday – maintaining their five-point cushion inside the top four.

It was the first time that Chelsea have picked up back to back wins across all competitions since the start of November, while Abraham was able to add to his impressive goal tally this season and now sits fifth in the Premier League scoring charts.

Here’s five of the Blues’ best stats from their win over Burnley.

First Time in a Decade

Jorginho,Jeff Hendrick

Chelsea’s win over Burnley has ensured that the club have won both their league meetings against the Clarets for the first time in a decade.

The Blues picked up a 4-2 win at Turf Moor back in October, where Christian Pulisic scored a perfect hat-trick on matchday 10.

The last time Chelsea secured back-to-back wins over Burnley came during the 2009/10 season, under Carlo Ancelotti.

Chelsea’s 4th Favourite Opponents

Aaron Lennon,Willian

Chelsea have extended their run of scoring in every single match against Burnley in the Premier League to 12.

Only against Wigan Athletic (16), Derby Country (14) and Portsmouth (14) have Chelsea registered a longer 100 per cent scoring record against an opponent.

Catching Up With Frank Lampard

Tammy Abraham

Tammy Abraham’s strike against Burnley has seen him move to 13 goals in the Premier League.

In the competition’s history, current manager Frank Lampard is the only Englishman to score more goals during a single season for Chelsea.

Lampard scored more than 13 on three different occasions during his career.

12-Yard King

Jorginho,Tammy Abraham

Jorginho’s opener from the penalty spot has extended his perfect record from 12 yards in the Premier League – scoring all three he’s taken.

It was also the 10th penalty that Jorginho’s taken in Europe’s top five leagues. Jorginho’s only miss from the spot came in 2017 against Udinese.

‘Dave’ Leading By Example

Cesar Azpilicueta,Callum Hudson-Odoi

Chelsea’s youngsters have been grabbing the headlines at Stamford Bridge this season, but veteran César Azpilicueta impressed with his third assist of the season to set up Callum Hudson-Odoi’s goal.

Coupled with his three goals this campaign, Azpilicueta has now been directly involved in more goals this season than any other defender at the club.
