With just four games remaining, Juventus look set to scoop a ninth Serie A title in a row.
Should La Vecchia Signora win against Udinese on Thursday, it will take them at least eight points clear of second place, depending on results elsewhere.
However, we should not assume that the Italian giants will walk this fixture. Prior to their 2-1 victory over Lazio on Monday, Juventus had won none of their previous three games, picking up just two points in the process.
Anxious for his first ever major domestic trophy, don’t expect manager Maurizio Sarri to take this one lightly.
Here is the side the former Chelsea manager could name.
Wojciech Szczesny (GK) – Sarri has favoured the Poland international throughout most of the season, giving him 26 starts. The former Arsenal man needs to make five more appearances to hit the 100 mark for Juventus.
Juan Cuadrado (RB) – The Colombian winger/full-back has played his highest number of minutes in a league season since the 2012/13 term. Should Cuadrado feature, he will be returning to his former club, having made 24 appearances for Udinese in a two-year spell from 2009 to 2011.
Matthijs de Ligt (CB) – It hasn’t been an ideal debut season for the young Dutchman. Nonetheless, Sarri clearly trusts De Ligt, giving him 36 appearances in all competitions, and the former Ajax man has improved as the season has worn on.
Daniele Rugani (CB) – Rugani has had limited game time this season, playing just 406 minutes in the league. However, with Leonardo Bonucci suspended and Giorgio Chiellini also likely to miss out, expect the 25-year old to start on Thursday.
Alex Sandro (LB) – Brazilian full-back Alex Sandro is likely to complete the back four. Sandro bagged the equaliser in Juventus’ 3-3 draw with Sampdoria last week.
Rodrigo Bentancur (CM) – While he is still waiting for his first goal of the season, Bentancur has had the best playmaking campaign of his career so far at Juventus, assisting seven times.
Miralem Pjanic (CM) – The Bosnian will be moving on from Italy in the summer after agreeing to sign for La Liga giants Barcelona. In his last appearance, Pjanic registered two assists against Sassuolo.
Adrien Rabiot (CM) – Former PSG man Rabiot has missed just one of ten games since the restart. The French midfielder wowed viewers with his stunning solo goal in the 4-2 defeat against AC Milan.
Federico Bernardeschi (RW) – The Italian winger sat out the 2-1 win over Lazio due to suspension, but started each of the previous seven games before that, so expect him to return to the starting XI.
Paulo Dybala (ST) – After recording just five goals and four assists in 2018/19, there were many question marks over Dybala. However, the Argentine has silenced the critics in fine fashion this year, finding the net 11 times and notching a further six assists.
Cristiano Ronaldo (LW) – Having already won the award with Manchester United and Real Madrid, the 35-year old will have his sights set on his first Serie A Golden Boot. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is currently level with Lazio striker Ciro Immobile on 30.
