Emerson’s Agent Confirms Inter & Juventus Interest Ahead of Expected Chelsea Exit

The agent of Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri has confirmed that they have received interest from both Inter and Juventus ahead of the summer transfer window.

After an impressive start to the season, the Italian has plummeted down the pecking order following a series of underwhelming performances and has been replaced on the left side of defence by captain César Azpilicueta – primarily a right back.

Should Chelsea decide to offload him, the two Italian sides are expected to be interested – and agent Luis Fernando García confirmed to Juvenews that he has already held informal discussions with both sides.

“We know very well about Juventus’ interest but also about Inter,” he said. “So far there has been no talk of a transfer with Chelsea, nor has there been any official offer.

“I believe that until May there will be no official offers from the two clubs. In the summer we will decide what to do.”

García clearly believes that a transfer could happen, and that stance is also shared by Tuttosport (via Sport Witness). They state that Emerson’s lack of action at Stamford Bridge this season has left him longing for a return to Italy.

It’s noted that Emerson played the best football of his Chelsea tenure under current Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri, and the left-back is thought to be keen on a reunion with his former boss to get his career back on track.

Tuttosport believe that Emerson will request a transfer at the end of the season, and it would appear, on the surface, that Chelsea wouldn’t stand in his way, as he’s only made 18 appearances in all competitions this season.

Bringing in a new left-back is believed to be high on Lampard’s wish list, with Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell and Porto’s Alex Telles regularly suggested, and selling Emerson would go a long way to funding a move for either player.
