Giroud or Kean while Juve wait for Suarez

While Juventus wait for Luis Suarez to terminate his Barcelona contract and get an Italian passport, they turn to Moise Kean on loan or Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud.

Suarez remains the first choice, but before he can make the move to Serie A, he needs to agree an exit by mutual consent with Barca.

Also, because the non-EU slots in the squad were completely filled when Weston McKennie moved from Schalke 04, they cannot sign another player from outside the European Union.

That means Suarez has to get his Italian passport, which he entitled to as his wife has Italian ancestry, but that will take time and it’s reported the Italian language test won’t be until next week.

The Serie A season begins next weekend and Juve do not have a centre-forward, as Gonzalo Higuain has already flown out to sign for Inter Miami as a free agent.

Therefore, Sky Sport Italia point out the Bianconeri are looking to alternatives and those include Kean on loan from Everton, something the Toffees are not happy about considering he was only sold to them a year ago.

Instead, a new option is Giroud, who had already been linked with Juventus, Roma and Inter last summer when his contract with Chelsea was running down.

The France international turns 34 later this month and is now under contract at Stamford Bridge until June 2021.

Despite being pushed to the margins of the squad, he still scored 10 goals in 25 games for Chelsea last season.

Gianluca Di Marzio claims Chelsea want €5m to sell Giroud, while the striker would accept a two-year contract worth €4.5m per season.
