The Argentine attacker has little doubt that the Liga champions can cause the Reds problems and is hopeful they will get a good result on Wednesday
Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain is confident that his side have what it takes to hurt Manchester United in their Champions League round of 16 tie.
The Argentina international has admitted that the Premier League leaders will prove to be tough opponents ahead of Wednesday’s first leg, but he has insisted that Madrid will do their utmost to get a good result.
“Manchester United are a fairly solid team. They always make it to the knockout rounds in European competitions and we’re going to have to be on our toes,” Higuain was quoted as saying on the club’s official website.
“But we can do a lot of damage with individual quality and counter-attacks. It’s clear that we’re going to give it our all.
“I hope that the key player comes from my squad because this would mean that we did things right and that we can have a successful second leg.”
Wednesday’s encounter at the Santiago Bernabeu kicks off at 20:45CET.
