Juventus Transfers: 5 Right Wingers the Bianconeri Could Realistically Target This Summer

With heightened speculation surrounding the futures of both Federico Bernardeschi and Douglas Costa, Juventus are flirting with the idea of revamping their attacking options down the right hand side.

The Bianconeri are thought to be eyeing a number of right wingers as Maurizio Sarri steers the club into a new exciting phase.

Here’s a look at four players Juve could realistically attract in the summer.

Ferran Torres

Valencia CF v Club Atletico de Madrid – La Liga

Over the past few seasons Torres has solidified his status as one of Europe’s top young talents. Although he operates primarily from the right wing, Torres is versatile in his ability to function in an array of attacking positions for Los Ches.

The pacy 20-year-old is known for his willingness to take on defenders and supply killer crosses for his strikers. This has been key to his meteoric rise at Valencia, where he has opted to see out his development and become a focal point of their attack.

Torres has excelled for Valencia this season and, after snubbing a new contract at the Mestalla, a host of Europe’s elite clubs believe now is their time to pounce. Juventus will have to go up against the likes of Barcelona, Manchester United and Liverpool, just to name a few.

Potential Price: £53m

Domenico Berardi

US Sassuolo v Torino FC – Serie A

Once upon a time, Berardi was considered one of the most promising wonderkids in Italian football. A technically gifted right-winger with a keen eye for goal, Berardi immediately caught the attention of the Bianconeri back in his debut season in Serie B for Sassuolo in 2012/13.

The following campaign, Juve bought 50% of Berardi and loaned him back to Sassuolo where he developed into one of Serie A’s most lethal inside forwards. Sassuolo bought his full rights when the Italian FA banned the controversial co-ownership system back in 2015.

Confused enough yet? After a few uneventful seasons in between, Berardi – at the ripe old age of 25 – has re-emerged as a top player, scoring nine goals in 20 appearances for the Neroverdi this campaign. His eye-catching form may have Juve wanting to re-ignite their interest in the classy winger.

Potential Price: £25-£30m

Riccardo Orsolini

SS Lazio v Bologna FC – Serie A

Juventus, as they so often do, spotted the talents of a promising young Orsolini playing for Serie B side Ascoli back in 2016/17. He was snapped up by the Bianconeri and loaned back out to his former club – a short stint at Atalanta followed before settling into an 18-month loan at Bologna where he flourished in the first team.

Bologna capitalised on Juve’s indecisiveness and permanently lured him away from Turin last summer. Orsolini has since thrived under Sinisa Mihajlovic, scoring seven goals in 26 Serie A appearances this season and marking his Italy debut with a strike against Armenia.

Similar to Berardi, Orsolini operates on the right wing where he thrives in one-on-one situations and loves to cut inside onto his wand of a left foot. The Bianconeri will be rueing their decision to offload the 23-year-old and Bologna have issued a hands-off warning, but will Juve persist with their interest?

Potential Price: £45-£55m

Federico Chiesa

ACF Fiorentina v Udinese Calcio – Serie A

A pre-eminent talent in what has largely been a mediocre Fiorentina side, Chiesa looks set to leave his beloved Florence in search of loftier heights. The 22-year-old burst onto the scene in 2016/17 and quickly became an integral player for the Viola.

The stalwart Chiesa is known for his valiant work-rate, bursting past defenders on the wing and providing sumptuous crosses into the attackers. Consistent performances in Serie A have led to his regular involvement for the Azzurri, appearing 17 times for his country since 2018.

With a host of top clubs linked since his prompt emergence, Turin may serve as his ideal destination. The Bianconeri are thought to be leading the race in securing his services with Manchester United, PSG and Inter lurking in the shadows.

Potential Price: £55-£60m
