Former Real Madrid right-back Michel Salgado believes that coach Jose Mourinho does not have a bad relationship with just Iker Casillas, but with every Blancos player.
The Portuguese trainer dropped the iconic captain for the Liga matches against Malaga and Real Sociedad, and is rumoured to have had fallings out with a host of squad members in recent months.
“I don’t think Mourinho has a rift specifically with Casillas, but rather with the whole dressing room,” the 37-year-old told Sport Express.
“I think the coach needs to make the first move and hold a meeting with everyone to discuss the situation and clear the air.”
Madrid currently sit third in La Liga, 15 points behind rivals Barcelona, but the former Blackburn Rovers defender is adamant they still have a shot at the title.
“There are still four months to go: the season isn’t lost yet. There is still enough leeway to get things back on track.”
Finally, Salgado promised that he would soon return to the game, adding: “I’ll be back as a coach very soon.”
