Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has conceded it will be ‘difficult’ to sta​y at Chelsea, with the player growing increasingly frustrated by his lack of time on the pitch.

The Frenchman has struggled for minutes under manager Frank Lampard. Giroud has started just two league games in 2019/20, while he has only managed 191 minutes of league football in total this season.

With the 33-year-old behind both Michy Batshuayi and Tammy Abraham in the pecking order, Giroud’s future at the club has been called into question.

It was ​recently reported that the striker is desperate to retain his place in the France squad for the European Championship next summer. To that end, it was revealed that Giroud was ​set to leave the Blues in January, along with Pedro and Marcos Alonso, with Crystal Palace among the sides said to be ​interested in the former Montpellier forward.

The player has now admitted that he will hold talks with the manager, but despite this, he expects to depart the club. Speaking to ​Le Dauphiné Libéré, he revealed: “I have my sights on the Euros. I am focused on this goal and I will do everything to get there.

“It will be difficult to stay at ​Chelsea. I’m going to have a chat with the coach. Chances are there will be change because I don’t have enough time to express myself.”

The former Arsenal man has attracted interest from the likes of Inter, Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, while French side Bordeaux are also keen on the player.

The World Cup winner added: “For the moment, I am a Chelsea player. I still have some games to play with this club by the opening of the transfer window. Then we will sit around a table and make the best decision for me. France is one of the solutions.”

​Giroud‘s contract runs out at the end of the season, but Chelsea ​will demand £5m for the attacker in January.
