Poll: Should Real Madrid sign a new goalkeeper to cover Iker Casillas’ injury?

Iker Casillas’ injury has provided Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho with a dilemma on the goalkeeping front.

While Florentino Perez moved swiftly to deny any rift at the Santiago Bernabeu between the players and the coach, the club have been anything but swift in the January transfer window and had looked set to sign a grand total of zero players in the winter month.

However, with Antonio Adan hardly the most high-profile of understudies, the question must now be raised as to whether Mourinho should dip into funds to cover for his club captain’s untimely absence.

The Portuguese has already watched his side let slip their Liga chances and all but hand Barcelona this season’s crown, and so the Champions League is now the club’s main focus.

But will Mourinho want to rely on Adan in the last 16 clashes with Manchester United? Or should a short-term loan be brought in?

Alternatively, considering Mourinho has dropped Casillas a couple of times in the past six weeks, perhaps the coach will be more keen to invest in a talented, upcoming goalkeeper to eventually usurp the Bernabeu skipper between the sticks?

Let us know what you think Madrid should opt to do by voting in the poll below, writing in the comment section or getting in touch via Facebook or Twitter!
