PSG Eying Up Miralem Pjanic as Juventus Consider Selling Midfielder This Summer

Juventus are willing to listen to offers for midfielder Miralem Pjanic in the summer, with PSG the current front runners to secure his signature.

Pjanic has been a regular feature in the Juventus starting XI since signing from Roma in 2016, helping the club win three successive Serie A titles.

However, after suffering a recent dip in form, the 29-year-old found himself on the bench for the crucial table topping clash against Inter last time out, triggering speculation about his future.

According to a report in La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are now considering moving Pjanic on in the summer if a suitable offer comes in.

The Bosnia and Herzegovinian international has three years remaining on his current deal, which runs until 2023, but his below par displays have left the club looking to replace him at the end of the season.

The report adds that PSG is the most likely destination for Pjanic should he depart in the summer.

This would see Pjanic return to Ligue 1 for the first time since his 2011 move to Roma. The midfielder spent four years in France with Metz and then Lyon before his switch to Serie A

The midfielder was heralded as pivotal to Maurizio Sarri’s plans at Juventus when the Italian took the reins last summer.

Renowned for being a stringent tactician, the Juve manager regarded Pjanic as a key cog in his  Sarriball machine.

However, while Sarri’s philosophy has developed slowly but surely in Turin, Pjanic’s progress has just been slow.

Since the turn of the year, the 29-year-old appears to have lost his sparkle, and in Juve’s most recent Serie A fixture, Pjanic lost his place in the side.

Sarri opted for a midfield three of Rodrigo Bentancur, Aaron Ramsey and Blaise Matuidi, while Pjanic remained an unused sub as Juventus secured a vital win over Inter in the title race.
