Serie A: Weekend preview in five stats

Mario Balotelli and Gonzalo Higuain will be licking their lips as they prepare to take on some historically profitable opponents but Roma have a tricky game against Sassuolo

Serie A is back for matchday four on a weekend during which two big-name strikers should expect to plunder goals.

Mario Balotelli is back at AC Milan after a nightmare year at Liverpool and he will be relishing taking on Palermo – they are the team past whom he has scored the most goals.

It’s a similar scene for Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain, who has notched eight against Lazio in just four games against the Rome side. He has a better record against them than any other opponent.

Meanwhile, Inter should be confident of a good result against Chievo with a marvellous recent record against the Verona club, while Roma face a tricky test when Sassuolo come to the Stadio Olimpico.

Get that and more as Goal picks out five key stats ahead of the top-flight weekend in Italy.
