The striker believes the momentum gained from a possible last eight victory over los Blancos could see them go all the way in the competition
Burak Yilmaz has backed Galatasaray to win the Champions League this season – providing they beat Real Madrid in the quarter-finals over two legs.
The Super Lig holders face los Blancos in the last eight of the tournament, and the free-scoring forward believes his side have all of the necessary ingredients required to emerge triumphant.
“I think that as a team we have great chemistry. We believe in ourselves on the pitch and are a team that always gives 100 per cent,” Burak told Vatan.
“I’m sure that if we beat Real Madrid, who will be tough opponents, with our enthusiasm we will go onto win the trophy.
Our potential will soon live up to these expectations.”
Galatasaray’s successes both domestically and on the continent have led to sections of the Turkish media hailing the side as a ‘dream team’, but Burak stopped short of agreeing with that grand assessment.
“It’s true that we a quality side but our coach does not like us being labelled a dream team, but we aim to be successful and work very hard for it,” he added.
“We will stay on this path
. Working under Fatih Terim is a great honour.”
